Dexter is a tiny puppy, only about one month old. We found him crying under a tree next to our latest rescue Tuna, in Karantina. At first, we thought he was just scared.
But soon we saw he had a lot of pus and deep wounds around his neck. He couldnโ€™t move at all.

We believe another mother dog, trying to protect her own puppies, attacked Dexter when he came close, probably just looking for food.
Sadly, his brothers were killed by the same dog. Dexter was the only one who survived.

We rushed him to the hospital. The vets were not hopeful. His whole body was infected, and he wasnโ€™t eating.
But his temperature was normal, so we didnโ€™t give up.

The plan was to heal him and release him back to his mother. But after two weeks in the hospital, we just couldnโ€™t return him to the street. He was still very weak and could not even lift his head.

Now, Dexter is at APC, sharing a quiet room with Tuna. He doesnโ€™t move much. He sits in one place and is still very scared. The wounds around his neck make it hard for him to lift his head.

The hardest part is his emotional trauma. He doesnโ€™t trust anyone yet. His eyes are always wide open, full of fear. We hope that, little by little, he will start to feel safe.

Can we hope that one of our amazing supporters will decide to foster him?

Dexter is a survivor โ€” and we will do everything we can to help him heal.

Will you help us cover his hospitalization bill, which amounted to $415? Our debt is increasing and we need your help more than ever๐Ÿ’”
