Simi was found on the street, screaming in pain, not understanding what was happening to him.
He was in a horrifying stateโhis jaw disfigured and drooling, looking completely dislocated.
One eye was popped out, and the other looked abnormal.
He wouldnโt stop crying. We rushed him to the hospital. The surgeon was shocked. His entire jaw is broken.
He is now completely blind due to the trauma. There may also be internal bleeding, and he is in unbearable pain.
His mouth is severely damaged and rotten.
Despite everything, we chose not to euthanize him. We want to give him a real chance at life.
The first step will be to stabilize his health, and we will place a feeding tube since he cannot use his jaw. The next step is to perform a CT scan. If the scan shows that the jaw and eyes are the only issues, we will proceed with fixing the jaw using an external fixator and removing the eyes. However, the scan might reveal additional problems that will also need to be addressed.
He also has a large abscess on his paw that is currently being treated.
