Ada is an 11 years old german shepherd who was used for breeding all her life.
When she was deemed unproductive because of her old age, they dumped her on the street.
Ada has been almost 2 years living at APC.
Ada and Arvin (another rescue dog) have a habit of eating any toy they catch. We used to remove any toy from the dogs facility when left unattended.
Unfortunately, 2 days ago, two toys were left with our new resident Storm at the dog facility and Ada decided to eat them.
She started vomiting after one hour the toys and her activity level became a bit low. We were able to walk her and feed her at night and everything seemed a bit normal.
The next day, Ada stopped moving.
She vomited more than 10 times and she was refusing to eat.
It was a Sunday and all clinics were closed.
We took her to animal house hospital and they gave her couple of medications through IV after having an echo and Xray. Nothing could have been done at the moment. It was a Sunday.
During the day, she started getting worse until her breathing became so heavy.
@canicat.clinic saved the moment and Ada’s life when they decided to open the clinic at 9:30 PM to check her out.
It was decided that she needs an immediate surgery or we will lose her.
Enterotomy surgery took 2 hours and Ada was finally released from the toys in her intestine and stomach.
The surgery is painful for the dog.
Ada is finally stable thanks to the amazing @canicat.clinic for saving her life at the last minute and she is still residing at the hospital.
So far, Ada’s bill is USD 553. It is just an estimation. The bill is still rising as she is still residing at the hospital.
We also paid 50$ at animal house hospital.
We really need your help more than ever.
