  • Description:Peter is around 6 years old. He was reported to us in June 2022 in Jbeil and we decided to take him in. He was in very bad shape; his eye was very infected and he was emaciated. He however disappeared and couldn’t be caught until September.
He suffers from a very severe and aggressive kind of Calicivirus that turned into a chronic stomatitis, causing his gum and throat to be so inflamed that he might choke on his breath or saliva at any time. He is always trying to scratch his throat because it is itchy and painful. We had to extract all of his teeth and remove his infected eye. Ever since, every time his health declines, he gets treated with cortisone shots; it is easy to notice whenever he is not feeling like himself because he stops eating and grooming himself, starts drooling a lot and becomes dehydrated. He currently is under treatment with a nebulizer once a week in order to open up his lungs and help him breathe, we also administer sprays in his mouth to help with infections and breathing. Peter also had to undergo a rhinoscopy to remove all the mucus stuck in his throat and nose.
Peter will never be stable, his health is always fluctuating and changing, going from being fairly healthy to dangerously sick.
We know that he might never get adopted, but we hope we can find him a sponsor, as his medical bills are quite high and we cannot always afford to pay for his treatment.
He is currently stable, fully vaccinated, neutered and FIV negative.
  • Notes:Peter crossed the rainbow bridge. We hope he is happy and running around freely. We will never forget you.
