Two different cats, two different places, but sharing the same heartbreaking story of abuseπŸ’”.

Meet Murray and Sophie.

πŸ”ΊMurray, a stray we’ve been caring for, recently began experiencing severe pain while eating.
We took him to the hospital and it revealed he needs all his teeth extracted due to severe gingivitis.

Murray has breathing difficulties as well.

Shockingly, further examinations showed signs of trauma – it appeared he had suffered a diaphragmatic hernia, possibly from being kicked.

A diaphragmatic hernia happens when organs from the abdomen move up into the chestπŸ’” – meaning someone kicked him and his organs are in the wrong place!

His condition is critical, and urgent surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Murray remains at the hospital, receiving antibiotics via IV as his blood test results were concerning.

πŸ”ΊSophie, a young eight-month-old kitten, was found barely walking and eating. Initially suspected of having cancer due to a visible lump on her left side but X-rays revealed she too suffered abuse – probably from a kick, resulting in a parasternal hernia.

A parasternal hernia occurs when organs from the abdomen are pushed near the breastbone πŸ’”

This is causing Sophie a lot of pain😭

Thankfully, her blood tests are normal.

Her surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday.

Both Murray and Sophie are FIV and FELV negative and received treatment for parasites.

We urgently need help covering their surgeries. We still do not know the exact costs, your support is crucial.

Every donation matters.
