It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of Ben, a black dove who suffered greatly due to the ongoing turmoil in Lebanon.

Ben was found by one of our volunteers just five minutes away from APC, after a strike hit a building, unable to move or fly.

After rushing him to the vet, we learned that he had a concussion which left him blind and unable to fly.

Yesterday, our situation worsened with four sonic booms that sounded like explosions, causing everything to shake violently, like a massive earthquake.

This terrifying event happened again today.

Tragically, we found Ben dead today. We believe the overwhelming noise and trembling frightened him to death.

His already fragile health could not withstand the additional stress.

Despite our hopes and the medication administered twice daily for two weeks, Ben did not make itπŸ’”

We are heartbroken by his sudden loss.

Ben, you deserved so much moreπŸ’”

Ben’s death is a reminder of the impact of the war looming over Lebanon. We are really frightenedπŸ’”

We recently launched a campaign to raise $14,000, which will cover two months of operating costs for our shelter.

So far, we have raised $650. With $300, we purchased raw meat for our dogs, and with $150, we bought essential supplements for them.

We are now waiting to gather more donations before placing a large order for cat food.

Every contribution helps, and we deeply appreciate your support in sustaining our shelter during these challenging timesπŸ™πŸ»
