Kastana is a victim of the ongoing war in the south of Lebanon. His body was burned all over after a deadly explosion. We don’t know how he survived such a horrible event.

But that’s not all—Kastana is also battling multiple diseases: leishmania, babesia, and ehrlichia. He was supposed to look like a beautiful brown golden retriever, but now, because of the burns, he barely resembles a dog. His injuries have changed his appearance completely.

Kastana has been in the hospital for almost a week now. Every day, his burns are being cleaned, but it is a painful process. The doctors have to sedate him each time to clean his wounds and apply medication because the pain is just too much to bear. It breaks our hearts to see him like this. We urgently needed to start his leishmania treatment, but it is not available in the Middle East.

Thankfully, with the kindness of a wonderful lady, she was able to bring us Glucantime from Europe, first for Lover and now for Kastana.

Despite everything, Kastana is fighting. He is eating, though he only accepts wet food, and his temperature is stable for now.
But he remains in so much pain. He is receiving painkillers, but we can see how heartbroken and sad he is. We can’t wait for the day when he starts to feel better, when we can see his smile again.

Kastana began his treatment today for leishmania, and we hope it will help him heal even faster.

We want to thank everyone who has helped us with Kastana. Your support means everything. But we still need help. Kastana’s treatment is long and very expensive.

Please, if you can, consider supporting him 🙏🏻

Since the war began, we have taken in 10 more animals, and many of them have their surgeries this week.

Finally, we pray for peace. Every night is harder than the one before. We are not sleeping. The animals are not sleeping. We live in constant fear, trembling with every sound. We pray this war will end soon.

Thank you for standing with us and helping Kastana in his fight to heal.
