Castana was one of the many victims of the ongoing war. An airstrike hit near him, leaving him severely burned.
After his rescue and recovery, we noticed that he was suffering from ear problems and papilloma virus, worsened by leishmania.
Following medical examinations, Castana underwent yesterday a CT scan and laser surgery. While the laser surgery was successful, the CT scan revealed news we did not want to hear💔:
• Otitis externa and media: Castana’s right ear canal, including both the horizontal and vertical portions, as well as the eardrum, are severely infected and damaged.
• He now urgently needs a surgery called Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bullae Osteotomy (TECABO) on his right ear to remove the infected ear canals and address the damage to his ear structures💔
This means that Castana will lose hearing in his right ear and become deaf on one side.
Thankfully, his left ear is healthy, and he will still be able to hear from it. The surgery will finally relieve him from the chronic pain and infections.
We do not yet have the final cost of the TECABO surgery, but we still owe the hospital for his previous treatments. Out of the $400 needed for Castana, we have only received $100 so far.
Castana has suffered so much because of a war he had no part in 💔, and we truly hope this will be the last time he has to undergo surgery 💔
Please donate and help us cover the costs of his CT scan, laser surgery, and the upcoming TECABO surgery. We cannot do this without your help.
Thank you for your compassion and support 🙏.
