Hummus, a two-month-old female puppy, miraculously survived a hit-and-run accident. The driver’s reckless actions left her with two severely damaged legs, exposing the bones in both. After a thorough evaluation, the surgeon informed us that Hummus urgently needs two critical surgeries.
We initially planned to wait until we could collect more funds, but we couldn’t delay any longer. Hummus was in severe pain, and we had to proceed with at least the first surgery immediately.
1. Fracture Surgery (Left Leg):
• The procedure, called Tibial Osteosynthesis, was performed to repair the fracture in her left hind leg. This involved stabilizing the broken bone using a plate and screws.
2. Upcoming Partial Digital Amputation Surgery (Right Leg):
• Hummus will need a partial digital amputation, where two severely damaged toes on her right hind leg will be surgically removed 💔
• The remaining two toes will be preserved to help her maintain some stability in her right leg. This surgery is scheduled to take place in five days.
Hummus was in critical condition and required emergency hospitalization to stabilize her health. Currently, she is eating well and maintaining a normal body temperature, which are positive signs. However, she is still in severe pain due to the extent of her injuries.
This heartbreaking situation could have been prevented if drivers acted responsibly, especially in areas where animals are present. No puppy should have to endure what Hummus is going through due to the carelessness of others💔
The financial burden of her care is overwhelming. We urgently need your help to cover the costs of her surgeries, hospitalization, and medications.
Her estimated medical expenses currently total $1,658.
Please donate to Hummus. Your kindness and generosity can make all the difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts🙏🏻
