  • Description:Berlin was found with severe facial injuries, crying for help and unable to eat. He was in excruciating pain and was rushed to the hospital for immediate care. His story is heartbreakingโ€”neighbors had been feeding him until an airstrike hit their area during the war in Lebanon. After the attack, Berlin disappeared, and everyone feared he had died. Yesterday, he reappearedโ€”emaciated, suffering, and barely holding on. Berlin was tested and found negative for FIV and FeLV, but his bloodwork showed severe anemiaโ€”though not as critical as initially feared. He was diagnosed with advanced calicivirus and severe gingivitis, which had caused parts of his mouth to die and decay. It is still unclear whether his injuries were a result of the airstrike or his illness. At one point, we thought we were losing him. But today, Berlin made an incredible comebackโ€”he ate for the first time through force-feeding, and his body temperature rose from 34 to 36 degrees. While still below normal, it was a sign of hope. Berlin is also battling severe pneumonia and subcutaneous emphysema, a condition where trapped air fills the skin due to lung damage, making it difficult for him to breathe. Despite everything, he has shown incredible resilience. After undergoing teeth extraction, Berlin is now eating on his own and has been discharged from the hospital. He is still recovering and needs a loving home where he can finally be safe. If you can offer him the care and compassion he deserves, Berlin is ready for adoption.
