Ash is a 4-month-old kitten whose life has been shattered by the war in Lebanon. She was found in the south by Hussein from @mashalashelter , who saw her in extreme pain.

Unable to eat and with severe injuries around her mouth, Ash was rushed to the hospital, where we were devastated by what the vet discovered.

Caught near an explosion, the blast burned off all the skin around her mouth, leaving her bones exposed. The sight and smell were unbearable. A small piece of bone in the middle of her jaw was broken, causing her immense pain. She also suffers from severe pain in her back and tail, and we are awaiting further information from the surgeon after reviewing her x-rays.

Ash’s condition is critical. Her blood tests are alarming, though she tested negative for FIV and FeLV. The vet immediately administered strong painkillers to stabilize her.

On Sunday night, Ash underwent emergency surgery for mandibular avulsion, a severe injury where part of her lower jaw was forcibly detached. The surgery realigned her jaw and involved creating a skin flap to protect the area, but it was just the first step. More surgeries will be needed to repair her mouth once the surgeon is back in Lebanon.

Thanks to the emergency surgery, Ash can now eat small amounts of wet food, but her struggle is far from over. Her body is in shock, and she remains in immense pain. Yet, despite everything, we are determined not to give up on her.

Ash deserves a chance to heal, to know love and safety after all this suffering. But we need your help. Donations are urgently needed to cover her ongoing treatments and surgeries. Every dollar will go towards giving Ash a chance at survival.

Ash needs us now more than ever.
