Just four days ago, we captured footage of the heartbreaking scene: a puppy dumped in the middle of the highway and desperately following her heartless guardian’s car, hoping to be taken back home πŸ’”
Watching her run amid the traffic, trying to catch up with the person who decided to abandon her, was profoundly sad. Eventually, she couldn’t keep up and had to stop.

This female puppy was terrified and at risk of being hit by a car. We tried to feed her, but she was too distraught to eat and looked utterly lost, continually looking in the direction the car had gone, hoping it would return for her.

We couldn’t bear to leave her alone, knowing she might not survive another day. We couldn’t live with that guilt. So, we took her in.
Despite appearing clean, Freya had not been properly cared for πŸ’”

She tested positive for Babesia, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichiaβ€”diseases from tick bites that often occur without proper preventive careβ€”and tested negative for Parvo.

In addition to her other challenges, Freya had a deep wound on her paw that required immediate medical attention. She ended up needing three stitchesπŸ’”

Yesterday, Freya was under the weather. Her energy level dropped drastically, and she developed diarrheaβ€”an alarmingly sudden symptom that can indicate parvovirus.

We rushed her to the emergency vet & Freya tested positive for parvo and her condition is criticalπŸ’”

The repeated blood tests indicate infections, and she has now started the demanding treatment for Parvo.
We’re currently facing overwhelming veterinary expenses for Freya and the ongoing care of our 150 rescue residents, who require food, litter, and extensive support in foster careβ€”areas where we barely receive donations.

We are URGENTLY reaching out to our community for help.

The initial tests alone cost $140, and now, with Freya fighting parvo, each night in care is costing $50. We took her to the emergency vet during the night, and her bill is still pendingβ€”we don’t yet know the full extent of the costs we will faceπŸ’”

Please, if you can helpπŸ™πŸ»
