Information

  • Pet Name:Sienna
  • Type:Cat
  • Sex:Female
  • Size:Small
  • Description:Sienna was living in a home in Tyr but she got thrown from the third floor because she got pregnant, in hope for her to lose her kittens. This strategy worked, as she has lost her kittens and her ability to walk, leaving her paralyzed and unable to fend for herself.
She was found by a rescuer who feeds the cats in the area. He took her to the vet to treat her and remove the dead kittens then put her back on the street. We then decided to take her in because being a paralyzed stray is most probably a death sentence for this cat who already had her skin completely ripped off because of the friction on the asphalt.
When she was getting transported to Beirut, her blood pressure dropped and she died for a bit. Her rescuer performed CPR on her, miraculously saving her life. When she finally reached us, she had a blood transfusion and was monitored closely for 3 months in the hospital.
Once her blood count got better, she had an MRI that confirmed that nothing could be done for her to walk again. However, with physiotherapy, she was able to move her legs for a bit. We couldn’t go on with her sessions because she travelled to the US to live in Suncatcher Sanctuary. We believe that with regular exercises at home and with a lot of care, she might be able to walk again.
Sienna has to be manually expressed three times a day because she cannot go to the litter box on her own. This is crucial for her to survive and not get any infections on the long run.
She is one of the cuddliest, most loving cats we ever had in the sanctuary. She is very affectionate and will come to you for head bumps and love.
If you are interested in adopting or meeting her, you can contact Suncatcher Sanctuary (Instagram.com/suncatchersanctuary).
Apart from being paralyzed, she is healthy, spayed, fully vaccinated and FIV negative.
  • Notes:This cat is fostered in Phoenix, AZ, USA. You will not find her at APC. If you would like to adopt her, please contact Suncatcher Sanctuary (Instagram.com/suncatchersanctuary).
