Yesterday, we were contacted about Berlin, a cat in a heartbreaking condition. He was found roaming the streets, skin and bones, with his ribs visible. He has mucus dripping from his nose, discharge from his mouth, and is unable to eat. Berlin looks like heโs in terrible pain.
Thanks to the help of the amazing @soulysrescues , he was rushed to the hospital. Please visit their page if you can support their work as well.
Berlin has tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and while his bloodwork shows severe anemia, itโs not as bad as we feared. However, his condition is dire. He probably has an advanced stage of calicivirus and severe gingivitis that has caused parts of his mouth to die and decompose.
His body is weak, his temperature is low, and heโs currently on IV fluids while the medical team works to stabilize him. He is unable to eat as part of his mouth is missing.
We were told that Berlin went missing after an airstrike hit the area during the war in Lebanon.
After the attack, Berlin disappeared, and everyone assumed he had died. Yesterday, he reappearedโemaciated, suffering, and in this condition. So it is still unclear if his injuries are from the airstrike or the calicivirus.
Berlin is fighting for his life, and weโre doing everything we can to help him. But we need your support. If you can donate anything, no matter how small, it would make a huge difference for Berlin. Please check the links in our bio to contribute.
We will keep you updated on his progress.
