Lebanon is in chaos. Every day, bombs rain down on the south and the capital without pause. We live in constant fear, not knowing if we will be next or who the next target will be. The devastation is beyond imagination.

People have fled their homes, sleeping in the streets with nowhere to go. Many have left behind the one thing they thought was not worth saving—their pets. Some animals were left chained, while others were abandoned to fend for themselves, with no one left to care for them.

During @mashalashelter heartbreaking mission to feed the abandoned dogs in the south, he came across a sight that shattered us all. A dog, whom we’ve named Castana, was found in a horrific state—exhausted, covered in open wounds and blood.

What we discovered at the hospital was even more devastating. Castana is a chocolate golden retriever, but you wouldn’t recognize him. His body is covered in burns, not from scabies or an allergy, but from the explosions that surrounded him. He was left behind, with no way to find food, no way to protect himself from the bombings.

He is only two years old and has already endured more pain than any animal should. Worse, he’s also tested positive for Leishmania, Ehrlichia, and Babesia—deadly parasites that show just how neglected he was.

Castana is fighting for his life. His burns are severe, and his pain is unimaginable. His wounds are being treated but will require daily cleaning. He needs to be sedated because the pain is too much to bear. Even his testicles are inflamed and burned.

Can you imagine the terror he felt as explosions rained down around him, with no one there to help, no one to save him?
We are desperate to save Castana💔

We urgently need Glucantime, a medication that’s not available in Lebanon, to start his treatment as soon as possible. We are already treating his other parasites with antibiotics, but he needs Glucantime injections to treat his Leishmaniasis. His life depends on it🙏🏻
