The cat facility was hit by a flu outbreak recently and Caramel was affected badly.
Her gum got so inflamed to the point where she couldnβt eat anymore.
We hoped after cleaning her teeth that she will get better but instead she was refusing solid food completely and she was losing weight.
We tested her for FIV and to our shock, she tested ππππππππ ππ
Because her immunity system was low from the FIV, Caramel had stomatitis and we had to remove couple of her teeth.
But before undergoing the surgery, Caramel had to stay 2 weeks at the hospital taking antibiotics through IV.
Because her mouth was so inflamed, it was ππππππππππ to administrate any medication orally.
Caramel had her surgery today and she will have to stay another one week at the hospital to give the antibiotics through IV as well and to monitor her health.
We need your help in ππ°π¨ major things:
1- Since Caramel tested positive for FIV, we need ππππππππ & as soon as possible to test our 70 cats to see who has the infection and who hasnβt.
FIV is only contagious via a deep bite in the skin. Thankfully our cats are very friendly.
There are many schools that speak about FIV.
In the past, shelters used to euthanise FIV cats.
But with the new studies, FIV is only transmitted through a deep bite in the skin.
Thankfully Caramel is a very gentle cat and she only minded herself at the facility.
Each test will cost 20$. This means we need to secure 1,380$ to buy ππ π
ππ πππ¬ππ¬ and test our cats.
This is extremely urgent. The vet will come to our facility but we need to secure the tests beforeβΌοΈ
2- Caramel is still residing at the hospital and her bill will exceed 1,500$ between hospitalisation and surgery.
We do πππ have this amount.
