We have amazing updates about three of our residents who are starting new lives abroad.
𝐌𝐚𝐞𝐯𝐚: Two years ago, Maeva was one of the victims of the infamous “death truck” incident. 69 dogs were saved, and five came under our care. Kiwi and Cotton have already found homes in France, and now Maeva has been fostered in Canada by the same sanctuary that took Kayla previously! Maeva was nearly euthanized when rescued, but we are so glad that didn’t happen. Her transformation was unbelievable, and we are thrilled that she is now in a loving environment. We still have two more dogs from that rescue waiting for their forever homes, and we hope they’ll be as lucky as their friends.
𝐓𝐮𝐤-𝐓𝐮𝐤: Tuk-Tuk, our three-legged cat, has also found a safe haven in Canada. Abandoned after being bitten by a dog, Tuk-Tuk’s leg had to be amputated because her former guardians didn’t take her to the vet in time. Left behind at the clinic because they were disgust by her physical look, she spent months in a cage before we took her in. Unfortunately, her chances of being adopted in Lebanon were slim, but the same wonderful sanctuary in Canada has stepped up to foster her.
So now Maeva and Tuk-Tuk are under their care♥️
𝐒𝐨𝐥: Our blind cat Sol has also made the journey to Canada. Sol lost his vision due to a severe infection as a kitten and has bravely battled both parvo and FIP. His strength is incredible, and now he is being fostered by the same family who adopted Shine, another blind cat we rescued. Sol and Shine are now living together under the same roof in Canada, and they look like twins!
We owe a huge thanks to our dear friend and supporter, @cynthiagereige , who helped create APC’s logo and designed the blueprints for our beautiful cat shelter. Cynthia took three of our pets—Maeva, Tuk-Tuk, and Sol—with her to Canada, saving them from the escalating situation in Lebanon. We couldn’t be more grateful♥️
Let’s hope for peace, and in the meantime, we will keep doing everything we can to ensure the safety and well-being of all our animals.
