We named him Louis.
Because he deserves a name.
Because he deserves dignity.

When Louis was found on the street, we were in shock. Half of his lips are gone. Torn away. His teeth are permanently exposed. His mouth is severely damaged, inflamed, and infected.
This kind of injury does not happen overnight.
Vets believe his condition could be either the result of a violent bite that ripped his lips and surrounding tissue… or severe, untreated calicivirus that slowly destroyed his mouth from infection. The surgeon will confirm the exact cause on Thursday.
Either way, Louis has been living in constant pain.
He is anemic. He is weak. He smells of deep infection. Eating is difficult and painful.
Yet Louis is very gentle. He allows touch. He trusts humans, despite everything he has endured.
Blood tests confirmed he is FIV and FeLV negative, which gives him a real chance to recover.
