Zahra is 4 years old.
She is blind — most likely because an infection was never treated in time.

War has started and @rescuing.souls needed help. We agreed to take three cats under our care. The bombing was so heavy that the cats could not reach us until three days later💔

But now something even worse is happening.

Zahra has not eaten for an entire week.
Pus is draining from her vulva.
Her body is overwhelmed by infection.

We performed an ultrasound, and the results are terrifying. Zahra’s uterus is full of pus. The infection is poisoning her body from the inside.

Vets confirmed it is most likely pyometra — a deadly condition that can rupture at any moment and kill her.

Zahra is literally a ticking time bomb💔

She is weak. Dehydrated. Fading and VERY skinny.

And she cannot even see the world she is trying so hard to hold onto. Her eyes are also severely infected and will need surgery to remove them and close the infection.

While the world focuses on conflict and politics, Zahra is fighting to breathe, to swallow, to survive.

Thankfully, Zahra’s ultrasound, full blood work, FIV and FeLV tests, and her first night of hospitalization have already been covered by a generous donor.

But she still urgently needs:
• Emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus and infected eyes
• Strong antibiotics
• Continued hospitalization

The costs are high. But her life is worth everything.

Zahra is in pain and she is deeply traumatized.

In times of war, compassion becomes even more powerful.

𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 Louis was seen by the surgeon,

𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬
Louis was seen by the surgeon, and the news was difficult.

The infection in his mouth is very severe. The doctor believes that a large abscess formed inside and eventually burst. Because of this, the tissue around his mouth was badly damaged and his lips have almost disappeared.

To stop the pain and infection, all of Louis’s teeth will need to be removed.

The surgeon explained that there are two possible options:

The first option is to remove all his teeth. Louis will be able to eat normally and he will no longer be in pain. The only difference is that visually his mouth will remain open because part of his lips are missing.

The second option would be a flap surgery to reconstruct lips using skin. This surgery is much more complex and expensive.

After discussing everything, we decided to proceed with removing the teeth only. This will relieve his pain and allow him to live comfortably without putting him through a heavier surgery.

Right now, we are struggling financially and donations have been very limited. We simply cannot afford the additional procedure.

Louis’s surgery to remove his teeth will cost $230.

If anyone can help Louis get the surgery he urgently needs, it would mean the world to us.

Not war.
Not crossfire.
A human did this to him.

Someone looked at him… and shot him straight in the face.
Pellets are inside both of his eyes.
They shattered his sight.

They shot his chest.
They shot his body.
They even shot his private parts.

How cruel can someone be?

The ultrasound showed the truth.
Both retinas are detached.
Both eyes are destroyed.
There is no treatment.
He will never see again.

And he is in extreme pain.

The only way to stop his suffering is urgent surgery to remove both eyes.
They are full of pellets.
They are beyond saving.
They are hurting him every second.

We are scheduling the surgery tomorrow.
We cannot risk waiting, especially now that the war has started.
We are grateful we managed to bring Oat out of the South just one week before everything escalated.
If we had waited, he might not even have had this chance.

Even in the middle of chaos, we cannot stop caring for our babies.

We need to raise $600 for Oat’s emergency surgery.

Please help us give him relief.
Please help us end this pain that humans caused.

Our shelter is only five minutes away from the areas under heavy bombardment. The explosions are very close, and the situation is extremely dangerous.

We are receiving many requests to take in cats and dogs for safety. We completely understand the fear and the urgency.

But at this moment, we are facing a crisis ourselves.

Right now, our only focus is protecting the animals already under our care.
We are monitoring the situation minute by minute, and we may reach a point where we are forced to relocate our own residents to protect their lives.

For this reason, we are deeply sorry, but we cannot take in additional animals at this time.

This is one of the hardest things for us to say. Please understand that this decision comes from responsibility, not from lack of compassion.

Pray for our country.
Pray for the innocent.
Pray that we do not have to move our shelter in the middle of this chaos.

At 2:45 AM, the sound of explosions shook us awake.
War has returned to Lebanon.

Our shelter is located just five minutes from the bombing. The blasts are close. The fear is real. We cannot move. We are staying for the animals.

Lebanon has not yet healed from the last war, and now we are facing another wave of violence. Our country is exhausted. Our people are exhausted.

And once again, the most defenseless are paying the price.

More than 53 villages have been ordered to evacuate. Lives have been lost. Many are wounded. Thousands of families are fleeing their homes.
The situation is escalating by the hour.

In the chaos, countless animals are being left behind.

Inside our shelter, our residents tremble at every strike. The bombardment is constant. They hear the explosions. They feel the ground shaking. They do not understand what is happening.

We cannot leave them to face this alone.
We are staying but we need support.

𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐭 & 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 🤍
Peanut and Butter were found with their mama inside an electric tableau at the entrance of a building. It was completely unsafe: exposed wires, no protection, danger everywhere.
They were just tiny kittens trying to survive in a place that could have taken their lives in a second.

We rescued them immediately and brought the little family to the shelter. Day by day, they became stronger, happier, and full of life.

And then something beautiful happened.

An amazing lady from Germany, currently living in Lebanon, met them… and fell completely in love. @xenia.goes.abroad decided she couldn’t separate them so she adopted both Peanut and Butter together.

Our hearts are full. Seeing siblings stay together is always a dream. We cannot thank @xenia.goes.abroad enough for opening her heart and her home to these two precious souls.

Now Peanut and Butter are living the life they deserve safe, loved, and together.

Their mama, Hazel, is still waiting for her own forever home. She has done her job as the most protective and loving mother. Now it’s her turn to be someone’s baby 🤍

Today marks one year since you left.

Not a single day has passed without me thinking of you.
Not one day without that heavy pain sitting inside my heart.
Everything is different without you. Nothing feels the same.

I still live, I still move, I still smile… but there is always something missing; a space no one can fill.

I cannot walk into your room. I cannot even go to the dog shelter. Your bed is still there. Your pictures are still there.

Everything is the same.
Except you are not there… and that is the hardest part.

I have dreamed of you only once since you left. Just once.
In that dream, I was in Karantina feeding the dogs, and suddenly you appeared. You stood on your back legs and hugged me.

I held you so tightly. I cried and cried. I kissed your forehead. I rested my head against yours. I did not want to let you go.

Then I woke up. It was the hardest awakening. God knows how hard it was to pull myself out of bed.
The pain was indescribable. It was even harder than the moment I was told that you had died…

It felt so real. So warm. For a few seconds, it felt like you were back.

Your sudden death was the hardest thing I have ever lived through; harder than any suffering I’ve known.

Two days after you left, as I was walking near APC, a butterfly appeared. It had the exact same colors you had; colors I had never seen on a butterfly before. It stayed close to me. I knew it was you.

I still believe that.

And every time I see a German Shepherd, I look into their eyes searching for you. I look for you in faces, in gestures, in eyes.

No one is like you.

You were not just a part of my life. You were woven into my heart.

I miss you in ways words cannot explain.

I love you my Ada… always.
I promise to always keep your name alive.
I have something in mind; something for senior dogs.
I will launch it in your name, so I can continue to say it, to spell it, to keep it living every single day.
