A mother cat and her three tiny kittens were part of a household with 30 other cats, all once living peacefully in a building.
But when this building was threatened with bombardment, the family who sheltered them had no choice but to leave. Tragically, the building was later struck by an airstrike, collapsing entirely and burying everything – and everyone – beneath piles of rubble.
The heroic people of @animalslebanon rushed to the scene, risking their lives to save any of the cats still alive. They moved carefully through the rubble, which could shift or collapse at any moment, refusing to abandon the animals trapped below.
The kittens were discovered first. Miraculously, the little ones were unharmed despite the building collapsing around them. We don’t know if there were more kittens, but only three were found with their mother – two boys and a girl.
They were immediately taken into our care, though frightened and refusing to eat. We fed them by syringe until their mother joined them.
The mother cat was found the next day, hiding and traumatized. @animalslebanon had to use a trapping cage to catch her. Thankfully, she too was uninjured.
When she was finally reunited with her kittens, they were so happy and eager to nurse. The mother is still deeply traumatized, staring blankly, but she managed to eat a little wet food.
This family is now safe with us, but they desperately need support.
This family needs the essentials to heal and recover from this horrifying war they had no part in.
We urgently need your help to cover their expenses. They have already been through so much, and now it’s up to us to ensure they are safe and healthy.
