As we shared earlier, 30 dogs were cruelly taken from @portdebeyrouth . Most of them were puppies stolen from their mothers while breastfeeding. It was heartbreaking and brutal.
We were given only four puppies back, and one puppy and his mother had already been taken before this tragedy. For us, this is a massacre, because without their mothers, these puppies have no chance of survival.
Thankfully, the mother, now named Fifi, and her puppy, Abdo, have been reunited and are now under our care at APC. Fifi is also the mother of Lana, one of the puppies we rescued. When Lana saw her mother, it was incredibly emotional—she went crazy with excitement.
The other puppies, thinking Fifi might be their mother, tried to nurse from her. Fifi, though scared and in shock, was very gentle with them, even though she knew they weren’t hers.
To keep Fifi, Abdo, and the other puppies safe, we created a special area with access to the outdoors, which cost $650. Unfortunately, we have received no donations for this so far. We are also still $300 short of covering the vet costs for the puppies.
Caring for seven puppies is overwhelming—they need constant attention and care, much more than adult dogs. Please, we urgently need your help to continue supporting them. Every little bit makes a difference.
