Tuk-Tuk – our three-legged cat – underwent rhinoscopy, a visual examination of the nasal cavity.

During the procedure, a significant amount of caseous pus was found blocking her right nostril, which blocked her breathing.

Fortunately, no polyps were discovered.

The obstruction likely resulted from a foreign body or regurgitation.

Additionally, it was noted that she has right-sided paresis, which means the right side of the larynx is not closing properly. This could lead to further regurgitation.

Regurgitation refers to the passive, involuntary return of undigested food or other substances from the esophagus or stomach back up into the mouth.

Regurgitation typically occurs when there is an issue with the closure of the esophagus, such as in Tuk-Tuk’s case, where the larynx is not functioning properly, potentially leading to the backflow of contents.

To address these issues, Tuk-Tuk will require daily treatment with doxycycline and nebulization.

Tuk-Tuk is out of the hospital and she looks already better.

Unfortunately we were not able to raise the money for her surgery. We need to pay $400.
