Our hearts are heavy. We donโ€™t understand whatโ€™s happening. Is it something in the stars? The planets? All we know is that 2025 has been the hardest year yetโ€”we have never lost so many pets in such a short time.

A good friend told us itโ€™s the effects of the war, the stress they endured, the toxins they inhaled during those dark days. We are witnessing more sickness than ever. Weโ€™ve never had so much cancer cases.

We have lost so many residents that Itโ€™s been too painful to post about, but we are tryingโ€”one at a time.

Today, we honor Snoopy. He was rescued after suffering terrible abuse. His lower lip was missing, his body covered in wounds. He tested positive for FIV but fought through it. He healed, had dental surgery, and transformed into a happy, affectionate cat with a strong appetite.

We were so hopeful for his future. Thanks to @kitties.in.paris , Snoopy had the chance to travel to France for a second chance at life and a loving home.

But when he arrived, something changed. He refused to eat or drink, no matter how hard his foster mom tried. He was rushed to the hospital, where tests showed a severe kidney infection.

He was put on IV fluids and given the best care possible, but he still wouldnโ€™t eat. We feared dry FIP, but his bloodwork didnโ€™t confirm it.

Despite all efforts, his condition worsened quickly, and his kidneys shut down. It became clear that the kindest thing we could do was help him cross the Rainbow Bridge.

We are heartbroken. We donโ€™t know if the stress of travel weakened his immune system and FIV played a role. But we do know this: he was deeply loved, right until the end. His foster mom and @kitties.in.paris did everything they could for him, and we are forever grateful.

Run free, Snoopy. You will always be in our hearts๐ŸŒˆ
