A month ago, Oat started bleeding from his private area.
We rushed him to the specialist immediately. An ultrasound showed a wound, likely caused by constant friction with the ground.
Oat is blind.
He was shot before.
And ever since the war and bombings, he barely moves from fear. He stays sitting most of the time, terrified something bad will happen again.
At first, the wound seemed small and clean. The doctors hoped it would heal on its own to avoid stressing him further with sedation and procedures.
But the bleeding came back. Worse than before.
Blood everywhere on the floor.
Constant licking.
Pain.
Discomfort.
We took him back to the hospital urgently⦠and this time, the news broke us.
Oat has TVT β a contagious type of cancer in dogs that spreads mainly through contact between dogs, especially through mating or licking affected areas. Thankfully, Oat is neutered, and the doctors believe we caught it very early before it grew bigger.
That is the only good news in all of this.
Now Oat urgently needs a CT scan TOMORROW to check whether the cancer has spread internally.
The scan and report, which must be sent to Europe for interpretation, will cost $390.
Please⦠we are begging for help.
We cannot postpone this.
Every single day matters when cancer is involved.
If the scan shows it is still localized, the tumor can be removed and Oat will begin chemotherapy. The treatment will be long and exhausting, especially for a blind dog already carrying so much trauma.
Sometimes we really wonder how much one soul can endure.
Shot.
Blind.
And now cancer.
The situation in Lebanon is becoming terrifying again, with warnings of bombings near us once more. We honestly do not know how we are going to handle all of this anymore.
We also lost hope in finding a foster for him.
But right now, the first step is urgent:
Please help us raise $390 by tomorrow for Oatβs CT scan.
Please donβt let us lose time.
Please donβt let cancer win tooπ
