He was rescued from Dahyeh after an explosion hit next to him. His family left him behind when the war started. His eyes had popped out.
We removed both of his eyes. He slowly started adapting to life as a blind cat. He learned his surroundings, started eating again, playing again, trusting again. We neutered him, vaccinated him, and watched his personality slowly come back to life.
And suddenlyโฆ
Cochi stopped eating.
Stopped moving.
Stopped being the happy Cochi we knew.
Today, after taking him to the hospital, our fears were confirmed. Cochi has wet FIP. His belly is filled with fluid. ๐
We are devastated.
The shelter is collapsing under the consequences of this war. Even if the bombings around us have calmed down, the suffering did not stop. The toxicity, the stress, the weakened immune systemsโฆ cat after cat is getting sick.
Cochi is now our second confirmed FIP case since the war started, and honestly, we fear there will be more.
We need help more than ever.
Please think about fostering.
Please think about donating.
One cat at a time is breaking in front of our eyes, and we are trying so hard not to break too๐
