First and foremost: Distemper is NOT contagious to humans or to cats.
Please do not panic or fear these dogsโ€”they are not a danger to you.

Weโ€™re facing an emergencyโ€”no, a catastrophe.

We were hesitant to share this, afraid people might overreact and turn against the dogs, fearing theyโ€™re contagious.
But the truth is: we are desperate. We need help, NOW.

Nearly 50 dogs in Karantina have contracted distemper.
Two full districts are affectedโ€”and the virus is spreading fast.

Distemper is fatal. There is no cure.
It begins with green discharge from the eyes and nose, progresses to the lungs, then attacks the nervous system, and finallyโ€”death.

We already lost one of our beloved dogs.
She was young, full of life, recently spayed, and ready for adoption.
We were preparing her for a new future.
She died suddenly. Weโ€™re devastated.

We donโ€™t know how the virus got to Karantina.
Distemper is rare in Lebanon.
There were no signs of new, sick dogsโ€”perhaps the recent sandstorm carried something in. We simply donโ€™t know.

On Sunday, we rushed two dogs to the emergency vet.
Itโ€™s incredibly difficult to find isolated hospital roomsโ€”this virus is extremely contagious among dogs.

Pancho, who was healthy just a week ago, is now hospitalized.
Heโ€™s weak, disoriented, has blurred vision, and mucous discharge. We thought it was just sandstorm irritation. But it was distemper.

Stella, from another district, showed signs in her eyes too.
We thought someone had injured her.
She refused food, seemed weakโ€”again, we didnโ€™t realize it was distemper. Now sheโ€™s also hospitalized.

We are heartbroken. We are overwhelmed. Weโ€™re doing everything we can, but we canโ€™t face this crisis alone.

We need your helpโ€”urgently.
Pancho and Stella are fighting for their lives.
Over 50 dogs are at risk.
Our plan is to immediately vaccinate every dog not yet showing symptoms.
But we need resources, fast.
Pleaseโ€”donate, share, support.
Time is running out๐Ÿ’”

We found Sasha when she was just a kittenโ€”shy and quiet. She grew up at the shelter, and while she became a truly beautiful cat, something about her seemed to draw the wrong kind of attention from the others. Despite having a shelter full of social cats, Sasha was relentlessly bullied. We never understood why.

We tried everythingโ€”introductions, slow re-socialization, even temporary separationsโ€”but nothing worked. She remained scared, withdrawn, always hiding. So we kept her isolated, not out of choice, but to protect her.

Then came a miracle. A dear friend connected us with a kind family in Spain looking to adopt a catโ€”one that needed a little extra love. We told them about Sasha, and they didnโ€™t hesitate. They understood she wasnโ€™t the kind of cat whoโ€™d come running to greet you. They chose her anyway.

Today, Sasha lives in Spain with the most loving, patient family we could have hoped for. Sheโ€™s still healing. She doesnโ€™t like being held yet, but she no longer runs or hides. She stays in the same room. Sheโ€™s gaining confidence. Slowly, sheโ€™s learning that she is finally safe.

To her adoptive father: we canโ€™t thank you enough. Most people pass on the shy onesโ€”the ones who donโ€™t come forward. But you saw Sasha and gave her a chance. You saved her. And that means everything to us.

A final thank you to her travel partner, @celineabdoo .
Your help made a difference in Sashaโ€™s lifeโ™ฅ๏ธ

Lover was one of the most abused dogs weโ€™ve ever seen. He was extremely skinny, and the marks of pain and neglect were all over his body. He had leishmania and went through five surgeries. He made it through, and we were so hopeful.

But then, he got leishmania againโ€”and this time, it took his vision. We tried everything, but the disease was stronger than us. Lover is now completely blind๐Ÿ’”

As if that wasnโ€™t enough, his eyes are now causing him pain and the only option left is to remove them. Itโ€™s heartbreaking๐Ÿ˜ญ
Lover has gone from one illness to another with no break. And now, this๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”

We need to raise $600 to cover the surgery to remove his eyes.
Please help us.

And weโ€™re still short $380 for Tunaโ€™s ear surgery, which is scheduled for this Wednesday.

Please, if you can help with any amount, it would mean everything.

Tuna, our senior mini terrier dog, has been through so much. He was cruelly mistreated, left malnourished, and abandoned by a heartless family. Since we rescued him, heโ€™s had multiple surgeries to remove large, dangerous tumors, and has always suffered from painful, recurring ear infections.

Recently, we scheduled a surgery to clean his ears (an otoscopy) and remove a new mass found in his stomach. Before proceeding, we did a CT scanโ€”and what we found left us in shock.

Tuna has ear canal stenosis, a condition where the ear canals become extremely narrow due to chronic infection and inflammation. In his case, the infection had been so severe and untreated for so long that the cartilage in his ears had hardened, almost like bone. This caused permanent damage, and sadly, no treatment or cleaning will help anymore.

Tuna is already barely hearing, and to stop the pain and prevent more infection, both ear canals will need to be surgically closedโ€”a procedure that will leave him completely DEAF. Itโ€™s heartbreaking, but itโ€™s the only way to relieve his pain.

The only good news: the mass in his stomach turned out to be a benign nodule, resting on a very delicate area of the intestine. The surgeon decided itโ€™s too risky to remove it and confirmed it wonโ€™t grow, so it was left untouched.

Tuna is now scheduled for two more surgeries:
	โ€ข	First ear: next week
โ€ข	Second ear: 10 days later

Tuna was suffering in silence๐Ÿ’”

We still need to raise $580 for his surgeries.
The original surgery (nodule + otoscopy) was estimated at $1,200. But now, with the new discovery, we are waiting for an updated quote. Hopefully it will stay within that rangeโ€”but it definitely wonโ€™t be less.

Please help us cover the $580 still missing. Every dollar counts.

Please help us raise $1,200 by tomorrow 4 PM for Tuna.

A new mass suddenly appeared in his stomach. Tuna already went through surgery to remove several tumorsโ€”thankfully benignโ€”but this one showed up after and is growing fast. It must be removed urgently.

He also has a severe, untreated ear infection. After many failed treatments, he now needs an otoscopy.

Both procedures will cost $1,200โ€”a shocking amount for us. Tuna was abandoned in Karantina, left to die near a river. But he survived all that.

Please help us proceed with his surgery๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

We know it feels impossible, but with your help, we can do it.

Bliss was found abandoned on the street. She had been cruelly declawed and left to survive on her own. When people saw her trying to sit near a cafรฉ, they pushed her away because she looked a little dirty. But the moment we found out she was declawed, we took her under our care.

Bliss is a true beauty, and thanks to our friends at @patounes_sans_frontieres in France, one kind lady fell in love with her.

And now, guess where she is? Bliss is in France! She is super happy, she has her own garden, a brother to play with, and a mom who adores her.

We are very happy for Bliss, and we wish the same happy ending for all our rescued animals. Thank you to everyone who helps make these dreams come true, and a special thank you to her travel partner for helping her reach her forever home.

Bea is over four years old. She is very anemic, extremely tired, and had to be put on IV because sheโ€™s so dehydrated and weak from the anemia.

She is now getting the care she needs. She also needs good, nourishing meals.

What breaks our hearts even more is how sad and heartbroken she is.

We ran all the PCR tests, and thankfully, she tested negative.

Once she leaves the hospital, Bea will come to APC, where she can rest and, we hope, find happiness with us.

Thank you so much for helping us save Bea. We will keep you updated.

We urgently need to raise at least $600 to rescue a German Shepherd who is in a desperate state. Sheโ€™s lying in the middle of the street, barely moving, right where cars pass byโ€”she could be hit at any moment.
Sheโ€™s dehydrated, not eating, and breathing strangely. She looks exhausted and completely heartbroken.

People are scared of her and have been throwing stones to chase her away. But sheโ€™s not dangerousโ€”sheโ€™s just tired, lost, and broken.

If we remove her, weโ€™ll need to run full blood tests, test for parasites, spay her, deworm, and vaccinate her. Given her condition, she will likely need to stay at the hospital for some time.

Please, we canโ€™t rescue her without your help. Every donation counts. Help us give her a chance to live.
