Hero’s condition is devastating.
He was caught in an explosion… his body burned, with a large open wound on his skin. He had already lost a lot of blood, and he was extremely dehydrated, which made his eyes sink in.
As we examined him, we noticed he was limping. After doing X-rays, we discovered something even more shocking… Hero had been shot multiple times before. One bullet is lodged in his bone, which explains why he struggles to walk.
His hematocrit was very low. He urgently needed a blood transfusion to survive.
We searched for a donor among many cats, but none were compatible. At the same time, we were facing a flu outbreak, which made things even harder. Still, many people came forward to help… and finally, we found a match.
Hero is still at the hospital. He needs a lot of care. Right now, the priority is to stabilize him. We still don’t know if he will need surgery to close his large wound.
He has been through so much… and he is still fighting.
