Kina is still alive.
Her case is one of the most severe we have ever seen… and honestly, we don’t even know where to begin.
She is currently being force-fed. We are considering a feeding tube, but her body has already been through so much. She underwent an amputation while she was not stable, and it has taken a heavy toll on her.
She is loving the chicken liver purée.
We were able to sedate her lightly to perform a CT scan to better understand her condition.
The results are heartbreaking.
Kina has a fracture in her jaw on the left side, which makes eating very difficult. She also has a fractured shoulder blade on the same side as the amputation. Her lungs are damaged on that side as well.
Right now, surgery is not an option.
Her wound is severely infected, and her body is too weak to tolerate another operation.
The priority is to stabilize her… treat the infection… and fight her anemia.
If she becomes strong enough, she will need another surgery later to correct the amputation and remove the infected tissue.
But what is truly devastating… is her skin.
Kina appears to have severe chemical burns, consistent with phosphorus-type injuries. These burns continue to damage the skin and deeper tissue over time, causing extreme pain.
Her skin is turning yellowish, and the damage is spreading. The vets are doing everything they can to stop it… but her condition remains very critical.
We cannot imagine the pain she is going through.
The trauma. The injuries. The burns.
And still… she is fighting.
We are praying she makes it.
We just want her to feel that she is loved… that she is not alone.
And we can’t stop thinking… how many others are out there suffering like this, unseen.
Please, if you can help Kena with her treatment, any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference.

We kindly ask that suggestions of euthanasia not be made. As long as she is fighting, we will not give up on her.
