- Description:Cochi is only about one year old still just a baby who should have been playing and enjoying life. Instead, he became another victim of the war. When he was found in Dahyeh, he was still wearing a collar, a sign that he once had a home and someone who cared for him. But when the war began, he was left behind to survive alone among the bombings. Imad, the man we support to feed stray cats in the area, had been feeding him for some time, but heavy bombings made it impossible for us to rescue him earlier. At one point, we truly thought he hadn’t survived. Somehow, Cochi did but with devastating injuries. The explosions caused severe trauma to his face, destroying both of his eyes, which now must be surgically removed. He is also extremely weak, suffering from severe anemia and a heavy ear mite infestation. Despite everything he has been through, Cochi remains gentle and trusting with people.
